New York Times QUOTATION OF THE DAY - From Iraq army officer, CAPT. BASSIM HASSAN, on the torture of insurgents prior Americans obtaining confessions: "I prepared him for the Americans and let them take his confession. We know how to make them talk. We know their back streets. We beat them."
OK we all know that Bush authorized torture, which is a War Crime, and Bush is insisting this is a War. It therefore follows that any member of the Congress (House or Senate) who fails to move for the impeachment of George W Bush is condoning War Crimes and has equal culpability for them.
Interestingly enough, it was American Nuernberg prosecutors who established the sitting by and "taking orders" was not a defense against War Crimes.
Now let us see how Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama mouth off on this one. Gee wiz, if what Imus had to say was enough to get him fired, should a president be allowed to hold his job when he advocates and authorizes torture of combatants?
More important, by authorizing and taking advantage of torture of the "Enemy Warriors" (remember we are at war, and so they are valid warriors) Bush has authorized the torture of our troops by them.
Lest we forget. Alberto Gonzales is the Attorney General who made the case for torture. He has made the case for depriving Americans, and those under our jurisdiction (4th Amendment), of their protections under the Constitution.
Exactly what will be be voting for when we select the next president?
Will it be a John McCain type; one who would see war as the vocation of America; or will it be Hillary, who also sees the continuation of war as the way to go?
Will it be the Hypocrites? The Right-wing, and Hip-hop nigga talking contributors lackeys?
Will we continue to be lead by those who profess Creationism and Intelligent Design while the rest of the world engages in science?
Will we be followers of Orwellian Double Speakers? Those who manipulate the ignorant and strive to prove us all ignorant?
There are no alternatives making themselves evident. We can look to the primary season as a time when we decide if we want Hawks, or Hypocrites. We can look to it as a time to select which hypocritical hawk we want.
Hey, it is business as usual. We can look to the Southern States, the Bible States, to see what that means for a "Christian Nation".
Yep the Bible Belt, the land of those who profess to follow Christian teaching about helping the poor, the needy, the sick; that is where we see the truth of the words and teachings of the Sharptons Jacksons, Robertsons, and Dodsons whose bark make the politicians jump.
The impact of cuts in welfare and Medicaid and of poor access to doctors is not leading to higher infant mortality rates. You know, infants, real people, not embryos; real people with a right to life that the right-to-life types are killing off through their fiscal advocacy in order to fund the killing of Islamists.
The infant mortality rate in southern states reacted 11.4 in 2005. To put it in perspective, that is TWICE the rate for CUBA, and nearly twice the rate for every other industrialized nation.
In Mississippi alone, twice as many infants die as people killed in the Virginia Tech shootings! Do you see the media coverage for those victims of violence against humanity?
Of course not. As with the Imus flap, when the Church leaders and evangelicals support the violence and related language, the media will stand quiet.
There is no moral problem with evangelicals killing 65 babies more in Mississippi than in other states; not when the express goal of their denial of broad health care is to raise those numbers. Hey, they are doing it to the Troops, why not the infants?

NO? Check the news. Nursing homes, controlled by these same people and their supporters, routinely harm the elderly. They get their money to continue practicing torture on those entitled by their age, and service to the nation, to peace and security.
Given a choice between funding health and tourism, the national capital, the city which is home of representative
government, but denied voter representation in that government, is now paying to see what people think of it. Aw, it wants tourists instead of protestors.
At home, the Bush Administration is seeking ways to send food aid to other nations, and so support middle-America corporate farms. At the same time, our poor are deprived enough (food stamps) money to by the quality food Bush will export.
Thus, the poor, reduced to eating the cheap high fat low nutrition junk, are acquiring more health problems from obesity, diabetes, and other dietary nutritional related causes. And remember, we "good" a nation of Christians who therefore cut health benefits and engage in other acts which are diametrically opposed to the express teachings of Christ.
